Prayer in the Sanctuary

The sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church in Covington will be open the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month for prayer from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  We welcome anyone who would like to come and have some time for silent prayer to come in.  Pastor Susi Ennis will be available at that time to pray with anyone who requests.

Downtown Community Thanksgiving Service

Please come out for this very special community Thanksgiving service for our downtown area.  Several churches will come together for a time of fellowship and thanksgiving to God.  All those from First Presbyterian Church, Good News Fellowship Church, Covington Baptist Church, Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church,  Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emmanuel Episcopal Church are invited to attend and of course all are welcome.

Virtual Christmas Eve Service 2020

First Presbyterian Church will have its traditional Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and Carols via the internet this year. The service will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2020 on the church’s YouTube channel FPC CovingtonVA.

The Rev. Susan Ennis will be reader for the biblical lessons, with organist/pianist Sandra Minter directing the carols.

Mrs. Minter comments, “This year has been different from anything any of us could have imagined and it has affected every area of our lives. Now, at the end of the year, our Christmas worship service will be part of all those changes. At First Presbyterian Church, we are planning to do all we can to have a meaningful, virtual Christmas Eve service.”

For those unable to join us at 5:00, the service will remain on the YouTube channel indefinitely, so they may open the YouTube Channel at any time.

Sunday Service

Sunday: “Running the Race” – Rev. Susi Ennis

Scripture:  Jeremiah 14: 7-10 and II Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18

Sacraments:  The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on November 20, 2023.


The services will continue to be available using the church’s YouTube channel FPC Covington VA. A link to the YouTube channel is also posted on the church’s website.  The services remain on the channel to be watched at any time.

Daniel Pillow offers a daily bible reading and prayer at 8:00 on the YouTube channel FPCCovington VA. These devotions may also be read at any time.

The adult Sunday school class is hosted every Sunday at 9:30 by Rev. Susi Ennis on Zoom. Anyone interested in the class and discussion may email Pastor Susi at [email protected] to sign up for Zoom.
