First Presbyterian Church in Covington, VA would like to welcome Pastor Linda Trumbo.
Linda is the daughter of Whitney and Betty Mae Trumbo. Her parents were educators. Her father was principal of Covington High School and Edgemont Elementary School. Her mother taught 3rd and 5th grades at Jeter-Watson and Rivermont Elementary Schools. She is the sister of Marion, Malfourd (Susan), and Robert (Teresa). All three of the brothers go by the nickname “Bo”.
She graduated from Covington High School, Radford University, and from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA. Her work experience has been with emotionally disturbed youth in various private and state agencies. She served churches in TX and TN as Director of Christian Education. Most recently she worked at EZPassVA in Clifton Forge.
She completed the Presbytery of the Peaks’ Commissioned Pastor program through Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. Leading worship with various congregational church families in the Alleghany Highlands and Lexington area was a joy. Being with brothers and sisters in Christ in worship… with God being present among us… refreshes, renews, challenges us to be God’s presence beyond the 4 walls of the sanctuary.
The church family of First Presbyterian Church continues to faithfully follow Jesus’ instructions to his disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19 -20. God is active and working through the church family of First Presbyterian Church to be God’s presence locally and internationally.
